The WVS data collection app was developed in response to challenges encountered during large scale canine vaccination campaigns - it has now evolved into so much more.
Use our standard data collection forms or fully customise your data collection to exact project specifications.
Need adaptations for non-English speakers? No problem, our app can support many scripts.
The app is already being used for:
The app was designed to overcome the challenge of field work, its simple interface and ability to work without 3G makes it suitable for many different types of field data collection.
The mapping function of the app allows detailed maps to be uploaded in .csv, .kml or shapefile form. Teams can be individually assigned regions ensuring areas are covered systematically and efficiently.
GPS data is collected with every data entry allowing geospatial analysis of field work.
Teams can navigate across an area, switching between Google Maps and Google Satellite in the app. The path tracker function eases navigation for data collectors, ensuring that no area is repeated or missed. For shelters and surgical teams, this function ensures every animal collected is released in the same location.
Project managers can monitor team progress in near-real time allowing a single central manager to steer teams through regions through the app.
A built-in app chat enables close communication between manager and team.
Upload data when 3G or wifi is available, data is stored on a secure cloud server, accessible immediately by the project manager. All data collected is 100% owned by your organisation.
Easy to use online dashboard with pull out graphics for quick data analysis, team direction and project management. Or download the dataset as a .csv for a more detailed statistical data analysis and reporting.
Stakeholders can get quick progress updates with data being accessible straight after upload. This ensures transparency of all project work.
Integrated bite case management (IBCM)
The app creates a platform through which health sectors can share knowledge crucial to the identifcation of rabid animals and coordinate a response to protect the community.
Tracing potential rabid dogs and additional human rabies exposures through the treatment-seeking behaviorrs of a community make the IBCM tool a potent resource for rabies elimination.
