Getting started
How can I get involved with fundraising?
Thank you for your interest in fundraising for Mission Rabies! Whether you want to run a marathon, have a bake sale or hold a virtual quiz night, we have everything you need to get started. Our fundraising pack has even more ideas for inspiration. You can also contact us to talk about your fundraising ideas. If you are interested in getting involved in a specific event or challenge email us at fundraising@missionrabies.org.uk.
How do I create an online fundraising page?
Creating an online fundraising page takes just a few minutes. Set up an online page through JustGiving and donations will come directly to Mission Rabies:
For JustGiving you will be taken to our page, press 'start fundraising', either log in or create an account, then explain why you are fundraising, personalise your page, and it's ready to be shared.
Alternatively, setting up an online page through Tiltify, a crowdfunding platform, is quick and easy:

This is a great platform to use if you want to do a interactive fundraiser, as Tiltify has a range of engagement tools, like polls, rewards, and milestones, to encourage donations! Find out more here.

How can you support me?
Our fundraisers are very important to us, and we make sure to support them. You can email us any time if you need help with planning, promotion or materials for your fundraiser. We can also promote your fundraising page on our social media channels.
Do you have any images I can use for my fundraising page?
We would be happy to provide you with some images you can use to promote your page, please email us at fundraising@missionrabies.org.uk and we can send you some.
How to promote your fundraiser
Fundraising material:
We have flyers and leaflets we can send to you to highlight the work you are helping to make possible. We also have collection pot labels available that you can print off and use, contact us if you would like one.
Tips for promoting my fundraiser:
Let everyone know what you are doing through social media, send a press release to your local paper, or put out flyers
Ask your friends and family to share your page
Share updates on your journey, if you are training for a challenge or planning your own event, let everyone know how you are getting on
Promote your page offline using a QR code on posters and flyers
If you are doing a challenge connect your Strava account to your JustGiving page to engage your supporters
How to use QR codes:
Using a QR code is a great way to make more people aware of your fundraising page, as you can create a flyer or poster and include your QR code. This can also be attached to a collection tin so people can donate online.
You can generate a QR code from your JustGiving page using the steps below;
Log in to your JustGiving account and go to your page
Click 'edit your page' in the top-left corner of your screen
Click on the 'share' tab on the left of your screen
Select the QR symbol (the last symbol on the right, next to the envelope email symbol)
Linking your Strava account to your JustGiving page:
Download and register with Strava (if you haven't already)
Log in to your JustGiving account and view the fundraising page you wish to connect with
Scroll down and select the 'Connect Strava' button
Confirm the Strava permissions, and select and save your fitness settings
Track your chosen exercise in the Strava app and watch as it automatically updates on your page!
Tips for boosting your donations:
Ask your friends and families to donate
Incentivise donations with rewards or giveaways
Ask your company, or a local business to donate or match your funds
Be the first to donate to your page to show everyone how serious you are
Share regular updates about your fundraiser through social media
Use stories of communities we have helped and impact figures to encourage people to give, you can find these in our fundraising pack
How do I get a fundraising pack?
Our fundraising pack has lots of additional information that can support your fundraiser. There are different ideas to inspire you, explanation of the impact voluntary donations have, legal bits to keep in mind, how to send us the money you raise, and lots more. Our fundraising pack, along with our sponsorship form can be downloaded here.
How will the money I raise be used?
The money you raise will help vaccinate dogs to protect them from this deadly disease, educate children and communities to equip them with the crucial knowledge to protect themselves from the cruelty of rabies, and establish sustainable surveillance systems in rabies hotspots to ensure the safety of communities by quickly responding to suspected cases.

Unsure how you want to fundraise for Mission Rabies? Take some inspiration from our supporters who have previously fundraised for us.
Climbing to end rabies
Jess, Heidi and Paige completed the Welsh Three Peaks for Mission Rabies, climbing 17.2 miles. Jess was inspired to fundraise before volunteering with us at our 2024 Cambodia mass vaccination drive.
Rowing for a rabies-free world
Renata Lopez-Gatell Fernandez completed a 500m row to raise money for our project Mission Rabies. She was inspired to fundraise before volunteering with our partner charity Pacific Animal Shelter and Hospital, Fiji.
Ride for change
Our very own vet, Ben Howitt, Director of South America completed the Rickshaw Run Northeast India in support of Mission Rabies.

How do I create an online fundraising page?
Creating a livestream fundraiser through Tiltify is quick and easy. Set up an online page through Tiltify and donations will come directly to us;
Tiltify is a crowdfunding platform where you can livestream through streaming sites like Twitch and YouTube
On Tiltify you will be taken to our page, press 'start fundraising', either log in or create an account, then you can create your fundraising page
To connect your account to Twitch or YouTube, go to the 'integration' section, and then press 'connect' next to the social media logos

Do I need to livestream to take part?
For this fundraising event livestreaming is just one way to get involved, if you do not feel comfortable livestreaming or do not have the equipment, you can also fundraise in other ways. You could do an offline event, for example a board game marathon or complete a challenge in an online game without livestreaming it and get your friends and family to sponsor you!
What kind of game can I play?
This fundraiser is supposed to be fun! Feel free to play any kind of game you enjoy, or you think other people would like to watch.
Do I need to get sponsored to take part?
Every donation matters! But you can always take part and raise awareness about the dangers of rabies and our work at Mission Rabies to end this deadly disease.
